Sixers continue road trip at Oklahoma City

Nov 10, 2010 - 4:11 PM (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia 76ers resume a tough five-game road trip tonight when they visit Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Sixers kicked off the trek in style on Sunday in New York when Elton Brand scored a team-high 20 points and added seven rebounds, and Jrue Holiday finished with 19 points and eight assists, as Philadelphia earned a 106-96 win over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Lou Williams had a solid game with 19 points for Philadelphia, which had dropped five of six to open the season.

Rookie swingman Evan Turner, getting his first career start in place of Andre Iguodala, who missed the contest with a strained right Achilles tendon that ended his streak of 252 consecutive starts, chipped in 14 points and 10 boards in the win.

"It felt so good," 76ers head coach Doug Collins said about the win. "We had so many guys play well. The only negative was our turnovers in one stretch, but we played through it."

Iguodala is expected to remain on the sidelines tonight for the Sixers, who will also visit Dallas, San Antonio and Cleveland on their current road swing.

The Thunder, meanwhile, opened a four-game homestand by falling to Boston, 92-82, on Sunday. Ray Allen scored 19 points and Paul Pierce added 17 in that one as the Celtics cruised.

Kevin Durant netted 34 points, while Russell Westbrook chipped in 16 points and 10 assists in defeat, the Thunder's third in four games.

"You've got to know your role, first off. I think everybody knows their role here, we've got to play within ourselves and know what we can't do," Durant said. "If you're not a ball-handler, don't try to dribble the ball. If you're not a shooter, don't try to shoot long-range shots. Just play within yourself, and if everyone does that it'll be a great group effort."

Oklahoma City will finish its residency with games against Portland and San Antonio.

The Thunder have won three straight over the Sixers and swept the home-and- home season series a year ago.
