Bosh, Heat play host to Raptors

Nov 13, 2010 - 3:50 PM (Sports Network) - Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh will take on his former team, the Toronto Raptors, for the first time tonight at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Bosh left the Raptors in the summer to join LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in south Florida and averaged 24 points and 10.8 rebounds last season with the Raptors. He is Toronto's all-time franchise leader in points (10,275), total rebounds (4,776), free throws made (2,997) and blocks (600).

So far Bosh and the Heat are off to a 5-4 start and have dropped back-to-back games, including Thursday's 112-107 loss at home to the Boston Celtics. Ray Allen burned the Heat with a season-high 35 points thanks to a 7-for-9 showing from three-point range. James paced Miami with 35 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, while Wade shot just 2-for-12 to finish with eight points.

"Tonight they simply out-executed us, carved us up and exploited us," Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said. "It paralyzed us. The thing that we had been doing well, we were kind of caught watching. We're better than this."

Bosh added 15 points for the Heat, who allowed 100 points for just the second time this season and are 1-2 on a six-game homestand. Miami, losers in three of four games since a four-game win streak, will also host Phoenix and Charlotte on the residency.

The Raptors are just 2-7 on the season, but were able to snap a six-game losing streak with Friday's 110-106 victory at Orlando to kick off a four-game road trip.

DeMar DeRozan scored 11 of his career-best 26 points in the fourth quarter and Sonny Weems hit the tie-breaking three-pointer with 7.1 seconds to in the final stanza. Jose Calderon stole Mickael Pietrus' inbounds pass to seal the win and Weems ended with 14 points for the Raptors, who ended a four-game road losing streak as well. Andrea Bargnani had 27 points to help the cause.

"I have never hit a game-winner before. That was a good one for me," Weems said. "I saw it go in and we came away with a win and now the game is over with."

Toronto will also visit Washington and Philadelphia on the swing. In injury news for the Raptors, forwards Linas Kleiza (Achilles) and David Anderson (flu-like symptoms) and guard Leandro Barbosa (shoulder) missed Friday's game and are questionable for this evening.

Miami and Toronto split four meetings a season ago, with each team posting a pair of wins as the host. The Raptors have won eight of the last 11 meetings with the Heat, winners in seven of the past 10 meetings in south Florida.
