Hawks make a stop in Indiana

Nov 16, 2010 - 4:12 PM (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Hawks hope they have righted the ship as they aim for a seventh straight win over the Indiana Pacers in tonight's matchup from Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Hawks snapped a four-game skid Sunday when Al Horford and Josh Smith supplied 28 and 23 points, respectively, in a 111-105 victory over Minnesota.

Horford and Smith each had 10 rebounds, while Joe Johnson added 17 points and five assists for Atlanta, which had won its first six games of the season before hitting a cold stretch.

"There are going to be times in the season when you're going to be hit with adversity. We were hit early with that four-game losing streak and were able to get out of our slump against a hot Minnesota team," Smith said.

The Pacers, who are kicking off a three-game homestand tonight, are coming off a 99-85 road win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. Danny Granger scored 34 points on 13-of-21 shooting in that one.

Roy Hibbert added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Pacers, who had lost 16 of their last 19 meetings with the Cavaliers and 11 of the last 13 in Cleveland, although that team boasted superstar forward LeBron James, now of the Miami Heat. Without James, Indiana was able to hold the Cavs to only 31 second-half points.

Mike Dunleavy contributed with 20 points in the win.

"I got it going early and pretty much carried it throughout the game," Granger said. "I think our defense in the second half was really the key."

On the injury front for Indiana, which will also face the LA Clippers and Orlando on its residency, forward Tyler Hansbrough is questionable with a sprained left ankle.

The Hawks have won six straight over the Pacers and swept the three-game season series a year ago.
