Sixers snap skid, down Bucks

Nov 20, 2010 - 8:52 AM Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Thaddeus Young supplied a season-high 23 points off the bench as Philadelphia downed Milwaukee, 90-79, at the Wells Fargo Center.

Lou Williams also provided a spark in reserve by contributing 19 of the 47 bench points for the Sixers, who snapped a five-game losing streak.

"We got past this one, now we've got to go on to the next one with our heads on straight," Young said. "We can't live off one win, we've got to get more, more, more."

Corey Maggette contributed 20 points off the bench while Drew Gooden added 16 and eight rebounds for the Bucks, who lost their second straight after shooting a miserable 26-of-77 (33.8 percent) from the field.

"We had our share of quality shots. We missed a ton of layups, missed open shots," said Bucks head coach Scott Skiles. "We had a handful of guys out there competing, but not the whole group. We're not able to get away with that."

Young's foul shots capped an 8-0 surge that pushed the Philly lead to 69-53 with four minutes to play in the third quarter.

The Sixers took a 72-59 advantage into the final 12 minutes and extended it to 83-65 with 7:25 remaining on a Williams three-pointer.

Maggette's three-point play drew the Bucks within 83-73, but two foul shots by Nocioni and an Elton Brand jumper following a flagrant foul by Maggette extended the lead back to 14 with 4:30 to go.

Earl Boykins' jumper whittled the deficit to 87-79 before another Williams trifecta extended the margin to 11 with 1:38 to go and sewed up the outcome.

The Bucks grabbed a 25-20 lead after the first quarter behind eight points from Brandon Jennings. After making 10 shots from the field in the first 12 minutes, the Bucks made just 16 the rest of the way.

Philadelphia opened the second period on a 15-4 run to take a 35-29 lead with seven minutes to go in the half. A Young foul shot gave the hosts a 10-point edge with a minute remaining before two John Salmons foul shots and a layup by Luc Mba a Moute trimmed the lead to 49-43 at the break.
