Randolph, Memphis roll over Pistons

Nov 25, 2010 - 7:06 AM Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Zach Randolph scored a game-high 21 points and added 14 rebounds as Memphis easily topped Detroit, 105-84, at FedExForum.

Rudy Gay finished with 17 points and Mike Conley and Darrell Arthur both added 14 points for the Grizzlies, who have won two straight since dropping five in a row.

"We just showed what we can do," Gay said. "Honestly, I don't think we played as good as we probably could. We played great in the second half and forced them into a lot of turnovers and we came out with the win."

Rodney Stuckey led Detroit with 17 points and Richard Hamilton scored 12 for the Pistons, who have lost four of five.

Charlie Villanueva contributed 11 points and Will Bynum and Ben Gordon both scored 10 in the loss.

"I think if we build chemistry we can be competitive," Gordon said. "If not, we'll be a team that struggles throughout the season. We're still trying to find ourselves."

Stuckey ended the first quarter with 13 points, but the Grizzlies used a balanced attack to take a 24-21 lead heading to the second.

Villanueva led a charge of Pistons bench players to take a 50-47 lead heading into the half.

Memphis took the lead, 56-54, on Conley's two free throws 3 1/2 minutes into the third quarter, and Gay scored five points on a 9-0 run a little later to push the margin to 69-59.

Hamilton accounted for all 12 of his points in the stanza but was ejected from the game with 51.1 seconds left after he was whistled for his second technical foul.

Gay connected on the technical free throw and two more from the line to put the Grizzlies up, 80-66, in the final minute. Bynum then added two free throws to trim the Memphis lead to 80-68 heading to the fourth.

Mayo's jumper at 7:11 put the Grizzlies up 22, 94-72, and added a three- pointer with under five minutes remaining to extend the lead to 23.

Arthur added a dunk with 1:12 left to give Memphis their largest lead of the game, 105-80, and Detroit's Chris Wilcox added two layups in the final 1:02 to account for the final margin.
