Heat hope to get back on track vs. slumping Sixers
Nov 26, 2010 - 3:45 PM (Sports Network) - The suddenly-slumping Miami Heat have a good shot at getting back into the win column with the Philadelphia 76ers slated to visit south Florida tonight.Miami has dropped a season-high three straight games after a three-game winning streak and suffered a 104-95 loss at Orlando on Wednesday. LeBron James scored 25 points, Chris Bosh netted 21 points and Dwyane Wade ended with 18 points for the Heat, who have battled on amid rumors that head coach Eric Spoelstra will be replaced.
"One thing I know we did tonight was competed," James said. "We showed a sense of urgency, and we had fun and played at a high level tonight. You can be satisfied with that -- there's no talk after the game where we say we just didn't have the energy. They just made more plays down the stretch."
The Heat are back home where they own a 6-3 mark this season
Philadelphia is the worst team in the Eastern Conference and fell to 3-12 on the season following Wednesday's 106-90 loss in Toronto.
Andre Iguodala ended with 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Jrue Holiday contributed 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the 76ers, who were outscored, 33-18, in the first quarter.
"We came out with low energy. We started very sluggish and that was my greatest concern," said Sixers head coach Doug Collins.
Sixers center/forward Elton Brand missed the game to serve a one-game suspension for his flagrant-2 foul in Tuesday's game against Washington. He is questionable for this evening's matchup.
The Heat defeated Philadelphia, 97-87, back on Oct. 27 this season, as Wade poured in a game-high 30 points and James Jones buried six three-pointers en route to 20 points.
Miami has won five consecutive meetings with the Sixers, losers in four straight and 10 of 12 visits to AmericanAirlines Arena.
