Westbrook has 43 as Thunder beat Pacers in OT

Nov 27, 2010 - 7:10 AM Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Russell Westbrook scored a career-high 43 points to go with eight rebounds and eight assists, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 110-106 overtime victory over the Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Kevin Durant scored 25 points and Jeff Green finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Thunder, who have won six of their last seven.

"KD and Jeff started off a little slow, and some nights I've got to be able to figure out a way I can help my team pull out the victory," Westbrook said. "Today I was just trying to start from the paint and work my way out."

Danny Granger led the Pacers with 30 points and Roy Hibbert added 19 points and 10 rebounds for Indiana, which had a two-game winning streak snapped.

Josh McRoberts netted 13 points while Mike Dunleavy scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in defeat.

The teams traded baskets for most of the extra period, and Durant made consecutive baskets to give the Thunder a 106-103 lead with 23.1 seconds remaining.

Granger missed a three with about 10 seconds to go, forcing the Pacers to foul. Westbrook added two from the line to extend the Thunder lead to five, and after Dunleavy hit a three with 4.6 ticks remaining, Westbrook was fouled following the inbound. He sank two from the line again, making it a two- possession game and securing the win..

The Thunder held a 23-20 advantage after a tightly contested first quarter.

Dunleavy put the Pacers ahead with about 10 minutes to go in the second, when he made 2-of-3 from the line. The shots were part of a 12-0 run that Solomon Jones ended with a layup, giving Indiana a 35-27 lead.

The Pacers continued to play in front, and Granger hit a deep three-pointer with 1:09 remaining to put Indiana up 10. Green capped the first-half scoring with a layup to trim the visitors' deficit to 52-44 heading to the locker room.

Hibbert's driving layup a little more than thee minutes into the third put the Pacers up by a game-high 14, 64-50, but the Thunder responded with an 11-0 run capped by a Thabo Sefolosha three-pointer with 5:33 left.

But Indiana led by several possessions for the rest of the quarter and took a 76-71 edge to the final quarter.

Sefolosha's layup midway through the fourth ended a seven-point burst and tied the game at 83. The Pacers were back up by five, 94-89, after Hibbert connected on a short layup, but Westbrook added the next four points -- two free throws and a layup -- to trim the Thunder deficit to one.

The Pacers' T.J. Ford then drove for a layup in the final minute, but Durant evened the game again on a three-point play with 47.8 ticks remaining.

"We were winning, literally, probably 46 of the 48 minutes of the game," Granger said. "We push it to five late in the fourth, they hit two three-point plays and then they tie the game right back up. It's a credit to them."

After Westbrook blocked a layup and Granger turned the ball over, the Thunder had a chance for the win, but Durant's step-back jumper was off-target.
