Warriors shoot for a win at Minnesota

Nov 27, 2010 - 3:52 PM (Sports Network) - The slumping Golden State Warriors hope to snap a five-game skid tonight, when they close out a three-game road trip against the Minnesota Timberwolves from the Target Center.

The Warriors continued to struggle with Friday's 116-111 loss at Memphis, as Andris Biedrins filled the stat sheet with 28 points and 21 rebounds in defeat. Monta Ellis ended with 23 points and eight assists, while Stephen Curry added 26 points for Golden State.

"We came back in this game three times," Warriors head coach Keith Smart said. "With the effort they are giving, they are playing extremely hard all the way through the game so you can't fault their effort."

Warriors forward David Lee has been given permission to return to the team. Lee had been out since suffering a laceration to his right elbow in a win over the Knicks on November 10. Lee is questionable for tonight.

Golden State has dropped five straight on the road and is 2-7 away from Oakland.

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves have dropped three in a row and five of their last six games, including Wednesday's 113-109 overtime loss versus red-hot San Antonio.

Kevin Love had a career-high 32 points and 22 rebounds for his second 30/20 contest of this season. He had 31 points and 31 boards in a win over the Knicks on November 12.

"It was very tough. We need to learn how to win ball games," Love said. "Sooner or later we're going to get our foot in the door and figure out how to do that. We played 3 1/2 great quarters of basketball and then just lost it down at the end. We made a couple defensive mistakes down the stretch."

Darko Milicic chipped in 22 points, eight rebounds and five blocks, but he also accounted for seven of Minnesota's 18 turnovers. Rookie Wes Johnson finished with 15 points, while Michael Beasley notched 11 points and nine rebounds in a losing cause.

Minnesota is 3-4 in the Twin Cities this season.

Golden State took all three matchups with the T'Wolves a season ago and has won 10 of the past 13 meetings between the two clubs. The Warriors have won their last three visits to the Target Center.
