Thunder and Nets rumble at The Rock
Dec 1, 2010 - 4:05 PM (Sports Network) - Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder will hit the road for two games starting with tonight's showdown with the New Jersey Nets at the Prudential Center.Oklahoma City will also make a stop in Toronto and is 6-2 as the visitor this season. It is coming off Monday's 95-89 win versus the New Orleans Hornets thanks to a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds from Durant and 25 points and 11 assists from Westbrook.
The Durant-Westbrook tandem is currently the highest scoring duo in the league, averaging 51.1 points per game.
"Both teams were fighting, scrapping. There wasn't a lot of free looks out there," said Thunder head coach Scott Brooks.
Jeff Green had 13 points and seven rebounds for Oklahoma City, which has won seven of its last nine games.
New Jersey will shoot for its third straight home win tonight and sustained a 111-100 loss in New York on Tuesday.
Brook Lopez scored a season-high 36 points for the Nets, who have lost six straight on the road. Jordan Farmar added 17 points, while Travis Outlaw had 13 in defeat. New Jersey lost guard Devin Harris to a left knee injury. He will have an MRI on Wednesday and will not play tonight.
"Big game changer," Nets head coach Avery Johnson said after the team's third loss in four tries. "Devin is a guy that we rely on heavily. In a sense, it's kind of like if they lose Stoudemire. On a lot of nights, Devin has been one of our top two players. It was tough to overcome it."
Oklahoma City took both games with New Jersey a year ago and has won three straight and six of the past nine in the series.
