Suns, Warriors collide in Oakland

Dec 2, 2010 - 3:48 PM (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Suns will try to get their act together when they close out a quick road trip tonight against the Pacific Division-rival Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena.

The Suns have lost five of their last seven games and suffered a 138-133 loss at Denver on Sunday. Jason Richardson led all scorers with 39 points and also pulled down 10 rebounds for the Suns, who fell to 4-6 away from the desert this season. Steve Nash scored 17 points and had a game-high 11 assists.

"It's about winning. If I scored five points and we would've won, I'd be happy," Richardson said postgame.

Phoenix lost even without Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony on the floor. He left after playing just 2:48 because of flu-like symptoms. Josh Childress and Hedo Turkoglu scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, in a losing effort.

On the injury front for the Suns, veteran forward Grant Hill (foot) is listed as questionable for tonight's game. Hill had 11 points in the recent loss for the Suns, who are allowing a league-high average of 111.9 points.

Golden State is also struggling and has lost six of seven games, including Tuesday's 118-98 setback versus the San Antonio Spurs. Spurs future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan scored 15 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and dished out 11 assists to record the third triple-double of his career.

Stephen Curry scored 32 points and dished out five assists, while David Lee added 18 points, seven boards and five assists for the Warriors.

"You have to play smart and make minimal mistakes because they are going to capitalize," Curry said. "They run their offense so well and have played with each other for so long that they know where to be offensively. When you take out their first option they have their spacing so great that everyone is in the right spot and they move that ball where somebody is going to make a play."

Monta Ellis had 12 points for the Warriors, who committed 16 turnovers and lost the rebounding war by a 50-44 count.

Phoenix won three of four meetings with Golden State a year ago and is 8-2 in the past 10 contests between the teams.
