Knicks shoot for another road win in Toronto

Dec 5, 2010 - 3:55 PM (Sports Network) - A pair of revitalized Atlantic Division rivals will meet north of the border today when the streaking New York Knicks visit Air Canada Centre and the Toronto Raptors.

The Knicks won their sixth straight road game in New Orleans on Friday when Amare Stoudemire scored 34 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead New York to a 100-92 win over the Hornets.

Raymond Felton registered 17 points and 13 assists for the Knicks, who have won six straight away from Madison Square Garden for the first time since the 1994-95 season. Wilson Chandler added 14 points and nine rebounds, while Danilo Gallinari and Shawne Williams both scored 13 in the win.

New York moved to two games above .500 (11-9) for the first time since it was 6-4 on November 16, 2008 and has won three straight and eight of nine overall.

"This win neutralizes one of our losses at home," Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We are just trying to do what we can do each game and fight through as best we can with what we got."

The Knicks, who are 8-4 as the visitor on the year after winning just 11 games on the road last season, haven't won seven straight away from the Big Apple since Dec. 27, 1994-Jan. 22, 1995.

The Raptors, meanwhile, accomplished what three other teams this season couldn't -- they beat an Oklahoma City team playing without Kevin Durant on Friday. Andrea Bargnani scored 26 points, including 15 in the second half, and Toronto rallied for a 111-99 victory over the Thunder in that one.

Leandro Barbosa added 22 points off the bench and Sonny Weems scored six of his 10 during a key run in the third quarter for the Raptors, who won for the sixth time in their last eight games.

"The game plan was good tonight," said Toronto guard Jose Calderon, who had 15 assists for the second consecutive Friday.

The Raptors have won 11 of their last 13 in Toronto over New York but the Knicks took the last encounter between the two teams at ACC, a 98-93 triumph back on Oct. 27 when Stoudemire scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
