Mavs begin homestand in search of 10th straight win vs. Warriors

Dec 7, 2010 - 3:40 PM (Sports Network) - The red-hot Dallas Mavericks will shoot for their 10th straight win when they begin a six-game homestand versus the Golden State Warriors tonight from American Airlines Center.

The Mavs will also host the Nets, Jazz, Bucks, Blazers and Suns, and are 8-3 in Big D this season. They just recorded a 105-103 win at Sacramento on Saturday, as Jason Kidd made two key free throws with 28.7 seconds remaining and Jason Terry stole the ball at the end of regulation to seal the victory.

"We were not in a good defensive rhythm all night, but for five minutes in the fourth quarter we played Mavericks basketball. And that's what got us the win," said Terry, who had 23 points off the bench.

Kidd ended with eight points, five rebounds and five assists, while Dirk Nowitzki tallied 25 points, five rebounds and five assists for Dallas, which hasn't lost since November 19 versus Chicago.

Golden State will begin a tour through Texas with road tilts in Dallas and San Antonio and will close out a three-game trek Tuesday.

In a 114-109 loss at Oklahoma City on Sunday, Stephen Curry scored a season- high 39 points and Monta Ellis added 29 for the Warriors, who have dropped three straight and eight of their last nine games.

Dorell Wright recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards in defeat. The Warriors were outscored, 18-2, to begin the game and never recovered.

"We've just gotta keep executing and finish our plays. That hurt us early," Golden State coach Keith Smart said. "Steph played great, he's a little beaten up right now, a little sore but he played great."

The Warriors are 3-8 away from Oakland this season. In injury news, guard Rodney Carney (foot) and forward Brandan Wright (back) are questionable for tonight's game.

Dallas took three of four games from Golden State last season and has won three straight and eight of the past 11 meetings between the teams. These two teams have split the last 10 contests in Big D.
