Pacers and Bobcats meet in Indy

Dec 10, 2010 - 4:12 PM (Sports Network) - Charlotte Bobcats head coach Larry Brown is closing in on the most wins in NBA history and looks to move closer tonight, when his team pays a visit to the Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Brown, who also coached Indiana from 1993-97, leads all active coaches with 1,326 wins in his NBA/ABA career. He is only 10 wins shy of passing Don Nelson for the most all-time (1,335).

The Bobcats will try to put the brakes on a five-game road losing streak this evening and are coming off Tuesday's 100-98 win versus Denver in which Stephen Jackson scored a team-high 23 points and hit a few three-pointers down the stretch to lead the charge. Gerald Wallace had 20 points and nine rebounds, while D.J. Augustin netted 18 points for the victors.

"When we get stops we can run. Last year we were a great defensive team and we've got to get that back," Jackson said on NBA.com. "It's time to put some wins together."

Charlotte has alternated wins and losses over its last four games. On the injury front for the Bobcats, forward Tyrus Thomas (quadriceps) is listed as probable for Friday's game.

Indiana has dropped three of its last four games, including Wednesday's 97-95 setback in Milwaukee.

Danny Granger ended with a game-high 26 points, Darren Collison scored 17 and Roy Hibbert ended with 13 points for the Pacers, who were beaten on the glass by a 50-37 margin and shot 43.2 percent from the floor.

"They were just beating us to the long rebounds," Hibbert said. "Especially myself, I wasn't being aggressive to get the ball, I was just thinking boxing Bogut out and making sure he didn't get any rebounds. In the second half we did a better job keeping them off the boards."

Mike Dunleavy added nine points in defeat.

Indiana defeated Charlotte, 104-101, back on Oct. 29 this season at Time Warner Cable Arena. Granger added 33 points and five rebounds for Indiana, which got 13 points, eight boards, and six assists from Hibbert in that one.

The Pacers have won three straight and five of the last seven meetings between the teams. Charlotte is winless in its last three in Indy.
