Rockets pay a visit to Milwaukee

Dec 10, 2010 - 4:17 PM (Sports Network) - The Houston Rockets have shown a little life recently and will shoot for their fourth win in five games tonight when they visit the Bradley Center to take on a Milwaukee Bucks team coming off a thrilling last- second win.

Luis Scola scored 35 points, including eight during a key fourth-quarter run, as the Rockets earned a 97-83 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday at the Toyota Center.

Scola added 12 rebounds while Kyle Lowry finished with 22 points, 12 assists and six steals for the Rockets, who rebounded from Saturday's overtime loss at Chicago to win for the third time in four December games.

"I think a lot of teams are in the same boat we are," said Rockets head coach Rick Adelman. "You've got to go out and you've got to get these wins at home."

Houston, which is just 3-9 on the road this season, had hoped to get former All-Star center Yao Ming, who has missed the team's last 14 games with an ankle injury, back against Detroit but that was scuttled.

"It's not strong enough," Yao said of the ankle. "There's no damage, it's just not strong enough to support me running and jumping. We haven't talked about (a new timetable) yet."

Houston, which has also been without dynamic point guard Aaron Brooks (ankle) since Nov. 6, swept the home-and-home a year ago and has dominated the series by winning 10 of the last 11 meetings overall.

The Bucks, improved to 2-1 on a four-game homestand Wednesday when Andrew Bogut's tip-in at the buzzer gave Milwaukee a 97-95 victory over the Indiana Pacers.

On a designed play, Luc Mbah a Moute threw an inbounds pass toward the basket and Bogut tipped it in as time ran out, giving Milwaukee its second win in three games.

"It was not as simple as drawing it up," Bucks head coach Scott Skiles said. "We work on that often, it's one of those things you work on and only use four or five times a season. Great pass by Luc Mbah a Moute; there was a little bit of contact on the screen but Luc couldn't have put that in a better spot."

Bogut finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds and Brandon Jennings scored a team-high 22 points in the victory.

Ersan Ilyasova scored 21 and grabbed 10 boards in a reserve role and John Salmons added 16 points in the win.

Forward Drew Gooden missed his third straight game with plantar fasciitis for Milwaukee and remains doubtful for tonight.
