Heat try to stay hot in Sacramento

Dec 11, 2010 - 4:04 PM (Sports Network) - The sizzling Miami Heat shoot for their eighth straight win when they close out a four-game road trip tonight against the Sacramento Kings at ARCO Arena.

Miami has won seven straight and the first three tests of its trek, including Friday's 106-84 victory at Golden State. Dwyane Wade had a game-high 34 points and LeBron James scored 25 to go with nine assists and seven rebounds for the Heat, who are 6-5 as the guest this season.

"The second half, we got to look more to our identity: Defending and getting out in the open court. I think our guys are enjoying that, but understanding, more importantly, the correlation," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "You can't get out and run unless you're getting stops and rebounds -- and they were really committing to that. We were able to use our speed to get some easy ones up the court."

The Heat used a big 18-3 run in the second half to pull away. Chris Bosh chipped in 16 points and seven rebounds for Miami, which had a season-best 33 assists and tied a season high with 15 offensive rebounds.

Sacramento will try to win back-to-back games for only the second time this season when it closes out a quick homestand tonight.

The Kings ended an eight-game losing streak with a 116-91 win over Washington on Wednesday, as Beno Udrih scored 23 points, Jason Thompson had 22 with 14 rebounds and Pooh Jeter added 13 points in a winning effort. Omri Casspi had 12 for the Kings, who won for the first time since November 19.

"It definitely feels good," said Sacramento head coach Paul Westphal.

Westphal's squad is 3-9 in California's capital. On the injury front, reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans is probable for Saturday due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot, while center Samuel Dalembert (personal) is also listed as probable.

Miami swept a home-and-home series with the Kings a season ago and has won 12 of 13 and 21 of the past 27 meetings between the clubs. The Heat have also won two straight and five of their last six trips to ARCO Arena.
