Bulls, Wolves clash in Windy City
Dec 11, 2010 - 4:09 PM (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bulls aim for their fifth straight win when they resume a three-game homestand tonight versus the road-weary Minnesota Timberwolves at the United Center.Chicago recorded its fourth straight win with Friday's 88-84 victory over the two-time defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers, as Derrick Rose poured in 29 points and Carlos Boozer tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls, who are 8-2 at home this season.
Luol Deng netted 14 points and Kyle Korver 13 in the win.
"It feels good, we're moving in the right direction," Rose said. "We're playing defense toward the end. We let them outrebound us in the last quarter, tip outs and a lot of second-chance shots, but tonight it worked out fine."
The Bulls will also host Indiana on the residency.
Minnesota is only 1-11 as the guest this season and will begin a six-game road trip tonight against the Bulls, Warriors, Suns, Blazers, Nuggets and Clippers.
In a 109-99 victory over Detroit last night, Kevin Love had 27 points and 18 rebounds to lead the way. Love has recorded 15 boards or more in nine straight games, the longest such streak since Ben Wallace ran off 14 in a row for Detroit in 2003.
"I feel like we did a great job defensively tonight," Love said. "We stepped it up."
Luke Ridnour added 20 points and 10 assists, Michael Beasley had 12 points and seven rebounds and both Wesley Johnson and Darko Milicic scored 11 points in a winning effort.
The Wolves had lost eight of nine games entering Friday's game.
Chicago swept a home-and-home series with Minnesota a year ago, but the Timberwolves have won six of the last 10 games in this series.
