Road-weary Clippers visit Pistons at The Palace

Dec 17, 2010 - 3:57 PM (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Clippers will still be searching for their first road win of the season tonight, when they take on the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Clips fell to a miserable 0-11 as the visitor Wednesday and dropped their 15th straight on the road dating back to last year when Jrue Holiday scored a game-high 24 points and the Philadelphia 76ers continued their winning ways with a 105-91 victory over Los Angeles.

Blake Griffin posted his 13th consecutive double-double -- 20 points and 18 rebounds -- to go with five assists, but it wasn't enough to snap LA's three- game slide. Baron Davis had 18 points for LA while Eric Gordon had 16 and DeAndre Jordan amassed 15 on a perfect 7-of-7 night from the field.

"The team has struggled for a while on the road," Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro said. "You have to play more unselfish. I didn't like our effort at all."

Griffin now has 19 double-doubles for the season, which is the second most in the NBA, and has averaged 24.0 points and 13.7 rebounds during his 13-game run.

The Clippers haven't dropped 12 consecutive games away from home in one season since Dec. 28, 1999-Feb. 20, 2000.

The Pistons, meanwhile, improved to 1-1 on a four-game homestand and snapped a four-game skid on Tuesday when Tracy McGrady hit four three-pointers in a dominant fourth quarter, leading Detroit in a 103-80 rout of the Atlanta Hawks.

McGrady scored a season-high 16 points for the Pistons, who have won 10 of their last 11 meetings with the Hawks at The Palace.

"It'd be nice to be able to play like this on a consistent basis," McGrady said. "It's just one game. Still, we've got to find ourselves. We've got to do this every night."

Richard Hamilton scored 24 to lead Detroit, and Charlie Villanueva added 23 with 11 rebounds in the victory. Rodney Stuckey contributed 16 points and 10 assists.

The Pistons, who already topped the Clips in overtime back in LA on Nov. 12, will be shooting to sweep the home-and-home season series between the two clubs for the seventh time in the last eight seasons. LA swept it last year.
