Thunder host lowly Kings in Okie City

Dec 17, 2010 - 4:15 PM (Sports Network) - The Oklahoma City Thunder look to extend their winning streak to five games tonight, when they entertain the Sacramento Kings.

The Thunder are 2-0 on a four-game homestand and have won four straight as the host, including Wednesday's 117-105 victory versus Houston. Kevin Durant scored 32 points and Jeff Green provided 21 for Oklahoma City, which is 9-4 at home and will also host Phoenix on the residency.

"Guys were looking for the extra pass, being aggressive, attacking the rim, getting to the free throw line," Durant said. "If we see a pass for an open shot, we've got to make it. Guys are doing a good job of reading the defense."

Oklahoma City shot a season-best 58 percent and made 28-of-29 foul shots. It led by as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter and stands 10 games above the .500 mark for the first time this season. The Thunder are also tied with Utah for the Northwest Division lead.

Russell Westbrook scored 17 points and Thabo Sefolosha added 15 in the win over the Rockets. The Durant-Westbrook tandem is currently the highest scoring duo in the league, averaging 50.8 points per game.

Meanwhile, the Kings will close out a three-game road trip tonight in the OKC and hope to salvage the finale of the trek. They have lost seven in a row away from California's capital and are coming off Wednesday's 94-91 setback in New Orleans.

Reigning Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans and Beno Udrih scored 22 and 20 points, respectively, for the Kings, who have one win in their last 12 games and fell to 2-8 as the guest this season. Evans returned to the floor after missing the previous game due to a foot ailment.

Sacramento blew a 23-point lead and rookie DeMarcus Cousins scored 13 points in a losing cause. The Hornets took over with a 15-2 run late in the game.

"We could feel it happening and we just didn't reverse it," Kings head coach Paul Westphal said of New Orleans' run. "The defensive intensity we had earlier just wasn't there."

Cousins is averaging 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in the last two games, while Udrih is averaging 16.3 ppg in the last four contests. Udrih has tallied 20 or more points twice in the last four contests.

The Kings and Thunder are meeting for the first time since Oklahoma City took three of four meetings a year ago. Sacramento has dropped three in a row as the visitor in this series.
