Hawks and Bobcats meet in Dixie

Dec 17, 2010 - 4:20 PM (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Hawks will shoot for their sixth straight win at home tonight, when they welcome the Southeast Division-rival Charlotte Bobcats to Philips Arena.

Atlanta is 8-5 as the host this season and suffered a 102-90 loss in Boston last night. Marvin Williams led the way with 26 points and Jeff Teague added 18 off the bench for the Hawks, who have lost two in a row and three of their last four games.

Zaza Pachulia had 10 points and Josh Smith was held to only one on 0-for-8 shooting. Reigning Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford did not play due to a back issue and is questionable for Friday.

The Hawks had 18 turnovers and shot 50 percent from the floor despite the lack of production.

"Too many turnovers, way too many turnovers. Especially being on the road," Hawks coach Larry Drew said.

Atlanta is still without All-Star guard Joe Johnson, who is nursing a surgically repaired right elbow.

Charlotte hopes to put the brakes on a seven-game road losing streak tonight in Dixie and opened a three-game trek with Wednesday's 113-80 blowout loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Stephen Jackson scored 16 points for Charlotte, which is now 3-10 on the road this season. Tyrus Thomas added 12 points and both Boris Diaw and D.J. Augustin finished with 10 in the loss.

"We were selfish on both ends and we didn't play hard. We acted like we didn't care," Bobcats head coach Larry Brown said.

Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace missed the game with a sprained left ankle and is listed as doubtful for Friday. Wallace is averaging 16.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this season.

The Bobcats will also visit Washington on the road swing and have lost six of nine games overall.

Charlotte and Atlanta split four games a season ago, with each team holding serve as the host. The Bobcats have lost six in a row at Philips Arena.
