Granger, Pacers send Cavs to 10th straight loss

Dec 18, 2010 - 4:36 AM Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Danny Granger poured in 30 points and grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds to lead Indiana past Cleveland, 108-99, at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Roy Hibbert, Mike Dunleavy and Brandon Rush each added 15 points for the Pacers, who ended a season-high three-game slide. Indiana has won all three meetings between the teams this season after dropping three of four last year.

Mo Williams scored 22 points and handed out 11 assists, while Anthony Parker and Antawn Jamison contributed 17 points apiece for the Cavaliers, who have lost 10 straight games, their longest losing streak since a 15-game skid between November 6 - December 2, 2002.

"We're all competing and putting ourselves in a situation to win games, but when we need to play smarter, when we need to get good shots, when we need to get stops, we're just not finding a way to put it together for 48 minutes," Jamison said. "I know the character of this team. We'll continue to fight."

A Granger triple and a free throw each for Darren Collison and Dunleavy capped a 13-4 run that gave the Pacers a 69-56 advantage with 6:20 to go in the third quarter.

Cleveland drew to within six with just over a minute left in the period before the Pacers took an 84-74 lead into the final stanza.

Two Rush foul shots extended the margin to 96-79 with 8:21 to go, and the hosts were never really threatened from there. Cleveland didn't get closer than 12 until the final minute of the contest.

"Coach (Jim O'Brien) told us all about being more assertive and you must be assertive on defense and set up the offense," Grangers said. "We got on a roll and were able to turn this around. We must stay focused and concentrate on each opponent one at a time."

Williams and Parker each scored six points early to help the Cavs forge a 23-19 lead after the first 12 minutes.

Granger scored 11 of his 15 first half points in the second quarter, and a triple by James Posey with 1.2 ticks remaining gave the hosts a 53-48 lead at the intermission.
