Magic attempt to bounce back in Oklahoma City

Jan 13, 2011 - 3:59 PM (Sports Network) - After failing to set the team record for consecutive wins, the Orlando Magic aim to bounce back tonight in the continuation of a five- game road trip against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Magic were shooting for a franchise-record 10th straight win Wednesday in New Orleans, but dropped a 92-89 decision in overtime. Dwight Howard missed a pair of foul shots down the stretch which proved to be costly and recorded 29 points and 20 rebounds for Orlando, which had a nine-game winning streak halted and fell to 10-8 as the guest.

Jason Richardson had 21 points and seven rebounds in defeat, while Ryan Anderson tallied 14 points. Orlando shot 39 percent from the floor and made 12-of-31 three-point attempts. Richardson knocked down 5-of-8 shots from beyond the arc and Anderson connected on four of his seven tries.

"The great thing about the NBA is that if you lose a game, most of the time you have a game the next day," said Magic guard J.J. Redick, who contributed five points. "It will be a quick turnaround, but we'll be ready."

Orlando will also visit Minnesota and Boston on the road swing.

Meanwhile, the Thunder will shoot for a fourth straight win tonight and are coming off Wednesday's 118-112 win in Houston.

Kevin Durant poured in 30 points and Russell Westbrook added 23 points and 13 assists for Oklahoma City, which has won three straight and 12 of its last 17 games. The Thunder are tied with Utah atop the Northwest standings and will put their three-game home winning streak on the line tonight.

"It was a good win for us," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said."[Houston] is a banged up team and have had some injuries all year, yet they continue to fight."

Serge Ibaka and Jeff Green added 16 points apiece in the win.

The Thunder and Magic split a home-and-home series a season ago, with each team winning as the host. Orlando has won eight of the last nine meetings between the two clubs, but is just 5-12 in the previous 17 games as the guest.
