Jones, Pacers handle Nets for fourth straight win

Feb 6, 2011 - 10:23 PM Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Dahntay Jones came off the bench to lead a balanced attack, finishing with a game-high 18 points, as the Indiana Pacers earned an easy 105-86 decision over the New Jersey Nets at the Prudential Center.

Mike Dunleavy hit 5-of-6 from three-point range and contributed 17 points for the Pacers, who have won four in a row and five of their last six overall. Indiana has dominated the Nets of late, winning six straight and nine of the last 10 matchups. Paul George chipped in with 14 points and six rebounds in a reserve role, while Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert each poured in 11 points in the victory.

"We've always been an unselfish team," Granger said. "We're making plays to get other people shots and that's helping us."

Devin Harris had 13 points and seven assists for New Jersey, which suffered a 92-82 loss at Detroit on Friday and has lost three straight and five of six. Brook Lopez ended with 13 points in defeat.

Dunleavy and Darren Collison each had eight points in the opening quarter to help the Pacers take a 33-24 lead after 12 minutes.

"It's our starts. We're getting off to sluggish starts," Harris said." We need to start the game a little better."

Indiana then controlled things throughout the second and Dunleavy's corner three finished off a 13-2 run to put the visitors in front 54-38 with 2:46 remaining in the half. The Pacers took a 56-43 advantage into the locker room.

Harris scored six points during an 8-0 burst to help cut the Nets' 17-point deficit down to nine, 63-54, with 7:04 left in the third.

However, Hibbert made a layup on the Pacers next trip and they would be up by as many as 15 before settling for an 81-67 advantage after three quarters.

The Pacers never let the lead dip below double-digits in the fourth and cruised to the easy victory.
