Bosh leads Heat into Toronto

Feb 16, 2011 - 4:08 PM (Sports Network) - After taking out a surging Indiana squad, the Miami Heat will shift their focus to the Toronto Raptors for tonight's showdown in the finale of a four-game road trip at Air Canada Centre.

Wednesday's matchup up north also marks the return of Chris Bosh to the country's largest city. Bosh departed Toronto in the summer to join LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in south Florida and averaged 24 points and 10.8 rebounds last season with the Raptors. He is Toronto's all-time franchise leader in points (10,275), total rebounds (4,776), free throws made (2,997), blocks (600), minutes (18,813) and games started (497).

Bosh had 12 points, six rebounds and four assists in less than 22 minutes during a 109-100 win over the Raptors on Nov. 13 at home. He did not play in Miami's 120-103 victory versus Toronto on Jan. 22 in South Beach due to injury. The Heat have won three straight and five of seven meetings with Toronto, while these two clubs have split the last 14 games in Canada.

The Southeast Division-leading Heat are coming off Tuesday's 110-103 win over the Pacers, as Wade posted 41 points and 12 rebounds, James compiled 27 points, six rebounds and five assists and Bosh added 22 points and eight rebounds. Indiana entered the game 7-1 under interim head coach Frank Vogel.

"I just came out aggressive," Wade said. "The last couple of games I don't think I was aggressive. I just wanted to do that. I got some shots to fall and my teammates kept looking for me. They got me off to a good start."

Miami won for the ninth time in 10 tries and is 20-10 as the guest in 2010-11. In injury news, guard Mario Chalmers (ankle) and forward Mike Miller (eye bruise) both left last night's game and could be back tonight.

Toronto posted just its second win in 18 tries with Sunday's 98-93 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. Andrea Bargnani scored 27 points and DeMar DeRozan added 17 for the Raptors, who picked up their first win on a four-game homestand which will conclude tonight.

"We've had this effort against a lot of teams, but tonight we made shots and played good defense and that was the difference," said Raptors guard Jose Calderon, who finished with 10 points and 11 assists.

Ed Davis posted 13 points and 14 boards off the bench. Calderon has 10 or more assists in three straight games and a 16.0 assist-to-turnover ratio (32 assists, 2 turnovers) over the stretch. Bargnani has scored 20 or more points in five consecutive games and is averaging 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and shooting .470 from the field this month.

After Wednesday's home game with Miami, the Raptors will visit Charlotte before returning home for another four-game stay versus the Bulls, Suns, Mavericks and Hornets. They are 10-17 as the host this season.
