Pacers kick off homestand vs. Pistons

Feb 23, 2011 - 4:20 PM (Sports Network) - Frank Vogel and the Indiana Pacers will begin a four-game homestand tonight versus the Detroit Pistons at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Vogel is 8-3 since taking over for the fired Jim O'Brien and his squad was able to end a two-game slide with a 113-96 victory in Washington last night. Danny Granger had 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Tyler Hansbrough posted 17 points off the bench.

Roy Hibbert netted 16 points for the Pacers, who have won nine of their last 13 games and got 11 points apiece from Darren Collison and Paul George.

"Our second unit, a.k.a. 'The Goon Squad,' they really got us over that edge," Hibbert said postgame. "They eased it up for us to go out there and do what we had to do."

The Pacers will also welcome Utah, Phoenix and Golden State to Indy and sport a 15-12 record at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Detroit has lost four of five games and sustained a 108-100 loss to the Houston Rockets Tuesday night at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Will Bynum provided 21 points and six assists for the Pistons, who got 19 points from Rodney Stuckey and 15 out of Ben Gordon. Tayshaun Prince had only one point and three assists in defeat.

"This is one of those rare games that he didn't have it going as much," Detroit head coach John Kuester said of Prince, who missed all nine of his field goal attempts. "We had to have some other people step up and I thought we did."

Pistons rookie Greg Monroe had 12 points and 12 rebounds in defeat. Detroit is just 7-21 away from home, but has won two straight road games. It will make a stop in Philadelphia after tonight's game in Indiana.

The Pistons beat the Central Division-rival Pacers, 115-109, in overtime last Wednesday. Prince finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds in that one for Detroit, which snapped a six-game skid in the series.

These two foes have split the past 18 matchups in Indy.
