Sixers host Wolves at Wells Fargo Center

Mar 4, 2011 - 3:55 PM (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia 76ers hope to get back on the winning track tonight in their quest for a postseason berth when they welcome the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves to the City of Brotherly Love.

The Sixers dropped the opener of a three-game homestand to red-hot Dallas on Tuesday when Jason Terry came off the bench to score a season-high 30 points to lead the Mavs to a 101-93 victory, their 17th in 18 games.

Jodie Meeks scored 16 points while Jrue Holiday provided 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Sixers, who had a season-high four-game win streak snapped.

Andre Iguodala contributed 15 points and seven boards and Thaddeus Young added 13 points and seven caroms in a reserve role for the hosts, who fell back to the .500 mark after losing to the Mavericks for the fifth time in the last six meetings.

"I told the team I was incredibly proud of their effort," Philadelphia head coach Doug Collins said. "I thought we played toe-to-toe with one of the better teams in the league."

The Wolves, meanwhile, took the opener of a three-game road trip on Wednesday when Kevin Love recorded his NBA season-record 48th consecutive double-double with 20 points and 20 rebounds, leading Minnesota to a 116-105 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

Anthony Randolph posted 19 points and 10 boards in a little under 25 minutes off the bench for the Timberwolves in his first game since being acquired in the Carmelo Anthony trade last week. Jonny Flynn added 14 assists and eight points as Minnesota won for just the second time in its last 10 games.

"We were also moving the ball well, and the biggest thing for us was just getting stops," Love said. "Everybody was rebounding the ball and that is how we want to play basketball, just like that."

Love is now just three games away from matching Hall of Famer Moses Malone's all-time record for consecutive double-doubles set from Dec. 29, 1978-Oct. 12, 1979. Malone, a former Sixer, was with the Houston Rockets at the time.

Philadelphia has won two straight and three of its past four meetings with the Wolves. Minnesota is winless in three straight trips to south Philly.
