Bucks resume trek against Kings
Mar 23, 2014 - 2:48 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Milwaukee Bucks hope to snap a six-game slide when they resume a four-game western road trip Sunday against the Sacramento Kings. The Bucks lost at Portland and Golden State to start the trip and suffered a 115-110 loss to the Warriors on Thursday. Brandon Knight scored 27 points and Ramon Sessions added 18 off the bench for the Bucks.
Milwaukee put up a good fight against one of the better teams from the West, but couldn't avoid falling to 13-56 on the season. Milwaukee also lost rookie guard Nate Wolters to a fractured left hand.
"It's a tough blow," said Bucks head coach Larry Drew on Wolters' injury. "We're just hoping he can recover from it."
The Bucks will close the trip Monday against the Los Angeles Clippers and are 5-29 away from home. They have lost seven in a row on the road.
Sacramento is 1-1 on its four-game homestand and dropped a 99-79 decision to the red-hot San Antonio Spurs on Friday. Isaiah Thomas scored 18 points and DeMarcus Cousins added a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Rudy Gay added 14 points for the Kings, who have dropped six of their last eight games and failed to build on Tuesday's win over Washington.
"I loved the effort tonight. I loved the defense," said Kings coach Michael Malone. "If you were to tell me going into tonight we would hold the Spurs to 99 points and 39 percent shooting, I would say we win. The game was a lot closer than the final score had indicated."
The Kings are 14-20 at home and still have New York to host on Wednesday.
Sacramento defeated Milwaukee 116-102 on the road earlier this month. The Bucks have won four of their last five trips to California's capital.
In injury news for the Kings, Thomas (wrist) and Gay (illness) are questionable Sunday.
