The Warriors dropped two in a row, their first two losses of the season, against the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs. On Thursday, Golden State halted the slide with a 107-99 home victory over the Brooklyn Nets.
Klay Thompson scored 25 points and the Warriors fended off a late rally from Brooklyn. Draymond Green scored 17 points with eight rebounds and a career- best seven assists and Andrew Bogut did a little bit of everything, contributing 11 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots.
Steph Curry also scored 17 with five assists, a pedestrian night by his lofty standards. Harrison Barnes added 12.
Turnovers have killed the Warriors in the early going. They are on pace to have a historic number of miscues and combined for 47 in the losses to Phoenix and San Antonio.
The Warriors committed just 11 on Thursday.
"We're still adjusting and trying to find our identity," said head coach Steve Kerr. "I want them to be explosive, but a little less wild. That can be done, but it's tricky."
The Hornets picked up their first road win of the season Friday with a 103-95 victory over the Phoenix Suns at US Airways Center.
Kemba Walker scored 19 points and the Hornets pulled away in the fourth quarter to snap a five-game losing streak in the series.
Gary Neal scored 12 of his 14 points in a big fourth quarter for the Hornets, including a pair of 3-pointers during a 12-2 run that gave them a 10-point lead with six minutes left.
The Suns, who led by as many as 14 in the game, got as close as four down the stretch, but three straight layups by Charlotte and four free throws from Neal sealed the Hornets' first road win of the season (1-4).
"We finished it in the end," said Hornets coach Steve Clifford. "We had chances in New York, obviously ahead at halftime in L.A., ahead with seven minutes to go in Portland, but tonight we did a good job of finishing up the game at the end."
Al Jefferson also scored 14 and Lance Stephenson had 13 points for Charlotte, which hadn't beaten Phoenix since Jan. 26, 2011. Bismack Biyombo chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds in the win, Charlotte's first in three games.
The Hornets swept both meetings last season and are 4-1 in their last five as the visitor in this series.
