Pacers try to end slide in South Beach
Jan 23, 2015 - 2:59 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Indiana Pacers look to snap a six-game losing streak when they resume a five-game road trip Friday against the Miami Heat. The Pacers are 0-3 thus far on the trek and dropped a 110-91 decision to the red-hot Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night. C.J. Miles and C.J. Watson scored 18 and 13 points, respectively, and Rodney Stuckey added 12 in defeat.
Indiana made 39.7 percent from the floor and is winless in the past five road games. The Hawks shot 50 percent from the floor and made 13-of-29 3-pointers.
"They have great ball movement, great shooting," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said of the Hawks.
The Pacers, who are 7-18 on the road, will close out the road trip Sunday against the Orlando Magic.
Pacers guard George Hill (groin) is questionable Friday.
Meanwhile, the Heat have lost two in a row and three of the last four games, and are coming off Wednesday's 78-76 setback to the Charlotte Hornets.
Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade scored 17 points apiece and Mario Chalmers ended with 13 for Miami, which shot 34.5 percent for the game and were outrebounded by a 56-41 margin.
Trailing by two in the closing seconds, Bosh missed on a 3-pointer from the top of the key. Chalmers tracked down the rebound, and his final shot from the corner missed short.
"In the first half, we were just getting our tails kicked," said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. "Second half we were better with it."
The Heat are 7-13 at home and will visit Chicago next on Sunday.
In injury news for the Heat, forwards Luol Deng (illness) and Hassan Whiteside (ankle) are questionable for Friday night's game.
Miami is 0-2 against Indiana this season and the two teams will meet again April 5 in Indianapolis.
