Curry, Warriors cruise past Spurs

Steph Curry, fresh off winning the 3-point contest last Saturday, scored 25 points with 11 assists to lead the Warriors to a 110-99 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Despite winning six of seven heading into the break, head coach Steve Kerr believed his team needed a rest. They looked fresh out of the gate in their first game back, while the Spurs were sluggish in the second half after losing to the Clippers on Thursday.
Klay Thompson netted 20 points and Harrison Barnes poured in 16 to help Golden State open the second half of the season the right way.
The Spurs had 13 players that logged at least 12 minutes on the second night of a back-to-back, with Aron Baynes' 25:06 leading the group. Baynes finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
San Antonio's starting backcourt of Tony Parker and Danny Green had just six points combined on 1-of-8 shooting.
"We couldn't hit a shot," said Parker. "They got a lot of transition points and that's where we lost the game."
The Spurs led 53-52 late in the second quarter following Tim Duncan's hook shot at 1:56. The rest of the half belonged to Curry.
After Barnes hit a 3-pointer and Thompson split a pair from the line, Curry scored six straight points in less than a minute on a layup and four free throws.
Golden State took a 62-55 lead into the break, then opened the third on a 7-0 run to create some distance.
Late in the third, with the Warriors holding a 10-point lead, Andre Iguodala hit a pair of triples and Curry drained a stepback 3 during an 11-0 run to close the stanza.
"We got a good run in against a good team," said Iguodala.
