Hood scores career-high 25 as Jazz top Kings

Apr 6, 2015 - 3:32 AM Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Rodney Hood scored 25 points to lead the Utah Jazz to a 101-95 win over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.

Derrick Favors had 11 points and Rudy Gobert chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds for the Jazz, who have won four of their last five.

DeMarcus Cousins led the Kings with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Ben McLemore added 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting.

Sacramento has dropped five straight since winning four in a row.

Utah led 31-27 after the first quarter, but Sacramento went on a 7-0 run early in the second to grab a 34-33 edge.

The Kings then went cold after the final basket of the run as the Jazz held them scoreless for over four minutes and built a 40-34 lead. Cousins scored five points during a 9-0 run that gave Sacramento a three-point edge later in the quarter, but the two teams entered the locker room tied at 49-49.

The game remained tied late in the third when Jeremy Evans converted a three- point play that started a 9-2 run and helped the Jazz to a 76-73 lead entering the fourth.

Utah pushed its lead to eight early in the fourth prior to the Kings ripping off seven straight to close within 83-82. The Jazz responded, however, as Hood netted nine consecutive points during a 14-2 burst for a 97-84 lead with 3 1/2 minutes left.
