Warriors hope to rebound from terrible trip, face Heat

Dec 1, 2008 - 1:39 PM Miami (8-9) at Golden St (5-12) 10:30 p.m. EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- After a disastrous road trip, the Golden State Warriors should be happy to be home.

The Warriors will be looking to snap a six-game losing streak when they face the Miami Heat on Monday.

Golden State dropped all five games during its road trip, culminating with an embarrassing 138-125 loss at New York on Saturday. The Warriors allowed 82 points in the first half and watched former teammate Al Harrington, who was traded to the Knicks for Jamal Crawford recently, score 36 points.

Defense has never been a focus for head coach Don Nelson, but Golden State allowed an average of 123.5 points over the last four games and leads the NBA in yielding 109.1 points per contest.

The trip dropped them to 2-8 on the road against a 3-4 mark at Oracle Arena.

The weak defense should make for an entertaining game from Heat guard Dwyane Wade, who leads the NBA in scoring at 28.2 points per game.

In the midst of their own five-game road trip, Miami has lost two of three after a 97-96 setback at the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. Wade scored 26 in the loss but missed a long 3-point attempt at the buzzer.

The Heat have lost five of their last six games against Western Conference opponents.
