Grizzlies hope to avoid 11th straight loss vs. Thunder

Jan 28, 2009 - 11:26 AM Memphis (11-33) at Oklahoma City (10-35) 8:00 p.m. EST

OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- The Memphis Grizzlies seem to have forgotten how to score.

The Grizzlies will be looking to snap out of an offensive funk and 10-game losing streak when they face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.

Memphis has reached 90 points just once during its slide - a 101-91 loss against Utah on January 16 - and is coming off a 100-85 setback against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday. Rookie O.J. Mayo led the way with 19 points as the Grizzlies shot 37 percent from the field.

Mayo and Rudy Gay are the Memphis players averaging more than 11.9 points per game.

The Thunder are poised to move ahead of Memphis in the Western Conference standings having won four of six to move to an even 10 wins. Oklahoma City received 18 points from Kevin Durant en route to a 94-85 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Monday.

Durant is making a push for a spot on the Western All-Star team, averaging 28.4 points over the last nine games.

The teams have split two meetings this season, with the Grizzlies taking the most recent contest, 108-102, on December 10.
