Murray State rolls past Tennessee State 80-59

Jan 8, 2010 - 3:47 AM NASHVILLE, Tenn.(AP) -- Isacc Miles and Tony Easley scored 13 points each to lead Murray State to an 80-59 victory over Tennessee State on Thursday night.

Miles and Easley were the only Racers in double figures as 11 players scored.

Murray State (12-3, 4-0 Ohio Valley Conference), which is off to its best conference start since 1998-99, jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first 5 minutes and led 43-19 at halftime.

The Racers led 66-36 with 9:53 remaining.

Murray State outrebounded Tennessee State (3-13, 0-5), which has lost five straight games, 42-31. The Tigers made only seven field goals in the first half (26.9 percent) and finished at 35.4 percent (23-for-65).

The Racers shot 53.6 percent for the game (30-for-56).

Easley added five rebounds and four blocks.

Josh Sain scored 13 points, Jocquan Nobles had 12 and Robert Covington added 10 points for Tennessee State.
