Green Bay holds off Detroit 74-72

Jan 17, 2010 - 4:39 AM GREEN BAY, Wis.(AP) -- Rahmon Fletcher scored 24 points and Wisconsin-Green Bay held off Detroit down the stretch for a 74-72 victory Saturday.

Bryquis Perine added 21 points and eight assists for the Phoenix (13-6, 6-2 Horizon), Troy Cotton had 10 points and Randy Berry pulled down 11 rebounds.

Chase Simon led Detroit (12-7, 5-3) with 24 points, and Thomas Kennedy added 11.

Green Bay led 35-27 at halftime and was still ahead 71-62 with 3:33 remaining before Detroit went on an 8-0 run to pull within 71-70 with 26 seconds left.

The Phoenix hit 3 of 4 free throws down the stretch to seal their 15th straight home victory in Horizon League play.

Detroit shot 57.4 percent (27 for 47) from the field compared to 47.3 percent (26 for 55) for Green Bay. But the Titans committed 18 turnovers, leading to a 27-12 edge for Green Bay in points off turnovers.
