Williams leads SMU over Houston Baptist 82-68
Jan 23, 2010 - 10:37 PM DALLAS(AP) -- Derek Williams scored 27 points and Robert Nyakundi added 20 to lead SMU to an 82-68 victory against Houston Baptist on Saturday.The Mustangs (8-10) trailed just once, 2-0. They raced to an 18-6 cushion and led by as many as 19 points in the second half.
Wendell Preadom led Houston Baptist (3-14) with 14 points, and Michael Moss added 13.
Williams scored at least 20 points for the seventh time in his career, the sixth this season and third game in a row. He had five assists.
SMU blocked a season-high six shots.
