Johnson leads UC Santa Barbara 85-80 win in OT

Jan 24, 2010 - 5:55 AM SANTA BARBARA, Calif.(AP) -- Orlando Johnson and James Nunnally scored career highs of 27 and 25 points, respectively, to lead UC Santa Barbara past Cal State-Fullerton 85-80 in overtime Saturday night.

Johnson hit a 3-pointer with 3.4 seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 72 and force overtime, and the Gauchos (10-7, 5-2 Big West) never trailed after that.

Jer'Vaughn Johnson scored a career-high 22 points for the Titans (8-10, 3-4), who lost their third in a row. Devon Peltier matched his career high with 21 points, and Gerard Anderson had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

James Powell scored the first five points of overtime on a 3 and a layup to give Santa Barbara a 77-72 advantage, and Fullerton didn't get closer than two after that.

The Titans overcome a 16-point second half deficit and led 72-69 with 19.8 seconds remaining after two Peltier free throws.
