Murray St beats SIU-Edwardsville 86-49

Jan 28, 2010 - 4:51 AM MURRAY, Ky.(AP) -- Tony Easley had 13 points, leading 11 players that scored for Murray State in an 86-49 rout of SIU-Edwardsville on Wednesday night.

Danero Thomas added 12 points and Isaiah Canaan had 11 for the Racers (19-3), who increased their winning streak to 10 games. It's the best start for Murray State since the 1998-99 Racers squad went 19-2 out of the gate.

The Racers shot 58.6 percent from the floor (34-for-58) in the game compared to just a 27.7 mark (18-for-65) by the Cougars. Murray State also forced 17 turnovers by SIU-Edwardsville, while committing just nine.

Nikola Bundalo and Cody Rincker scored 12 points apiece to lead the Cougars (3-18).

The Racers, who came in ranked second in the nation with 11.3 steals per game, recorded 11 swipes in this contest. Murray State has won 22 straight games in which it held the opposition to under 60 points.
