Jan 30, 2009 - 11:16 AM Valparaiso (6-15) at No. 13 Butler (18-1), 7:00 p.m. EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Butler hopes to continue its winning ways when it hosts Valparaiso in a Horizon League contest on Friday.

The 13th-ranked Bulldogs (18-1, 9-0 Horizon) have won 10 straight games and have done it mostly with defense, allowing less than 60 points in each of their last six wins. Butler is surrendering 55.6 per contest for the season.

Shawn Vanzant scored a career-high 20 points off the bench and freshman Shelvin Mack added 14 as Butler pounded Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 78-48, last Saturday.

The Bulldogs held the Panthers to 24 percent shooting (13-of-54), including 3-of-20 from the arc. They also forced 18 turnovers.

Valparaiso (6-15, 3-7) has lost four of five, including an 83-76 setback to Wisconsin-Green Bay last Saturday.

Urule Igbavboa is the lone player for the Crusaders averaging double figures at 11.2 points per game.

Butler won the first meeting at Valparaiso, 75-62, on January 3.
