Coming off big win, Villanova hosts Cincinnati

Feb 1, 2009 - 12:09 PM Cincinnati (14-7) at No. 21 Villanova (16-4), 12:00 p.m. EST

VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Villanova finally earned a marquee win. It's hoping to avoid a letdown against a team that is also coming off its biggest win of the season.

The 21st-ranked Wildcats go for their third straight win when they host Cincinnati in a Big East Conference contest on Sunday.

Despite being ranked for the entire campaign, Villanova (16-4, 4-3 Big East) had not beaten a top-25 team until Wednesday's 67-57 triumph over No. 3 Pittsburgh.

Reggie Redding scored 18 points and Dante Cunningham had 15 in the win for the Wildcats. Cunningham is averaging a team-leading 16.5 points and 7.1 rebounds.

Cincinnati (14-7, 4-4) has won four of its last five games and beat its first ranked team of the season in Wednesday's 65-57 victory over No. 23 Georgetown.

Deonta Vaughn scored 20 points in the win and the junior guard leads the team in scoring at 15.6 per contest.

The Bearcats won the lone meeting last season, 69-66, on their home floor.
