Utah State aims to rebound from loss vs. Cal-State Bakersfield

LOGAN, Utah (Ticker) -- Coming off its first loss in more than two months, Utah State will look to take out its frustration Wednesday against a Division I independent.

The 23rd-ranked Aggies had their 19-game winning streak snapped in their last contest and aim to get back in the win column against Cal-State Bakersfield.

Utah State (24-2, 12-1 WAC) climbed to 17th in the rankings before suffering a 66-56 loss at Boise State on Saturday. Gary Wilkinson and Jared Quayle finished with 12 points apiece however Tai Wesley was held to seven points on 1-of-6 shooting with five turnovers.

The sophomore had scorched the Broncos for a season-high 26 points, eight rebounds, five steals and four assists in their first matchup.

The Aggies missed out on a chance to clinch the WAC regular season crown outright, but still have three more chances to lock up the title this season.

Cal-State Bakersfield (6-19) has lost four straight overall and is 1-13 on the road this season. The Roadrunners are led by juniors Trent Blakley and Santwon Latunde, who are averaging 13.2 points and 11.2 per game, respectively.
