Butler looks to seal share of Horizon League title

Feb 18, 2009 - 11:28 AM No. 22 Butler (22-3) at Wisconsin-Milwaukee (14-11) 8:00 p.m. EST

A shocking upset deprived Butler of at least a share of the regular-season Horizon League title.

The 22nd-ranked Bulldogs hope to avoid a similar fate on Wednesday when they visit Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Butler (22-3, 13-2 Horizon) saw their 16-game home win streak against conference foes come to an end on Sunday, suffering a 71-67 setback to Loyola of Chicago.

The Bulldogs can still lock up at least a share of their third straight regular-season league championship with a sixth consecutive win against the Panthers, or a loss by Wisconsin-Green Bay to Valparaiso on the same night.

Matt Howard scored a career-best 30 points against Loyola and will look to duplicate that performance against Milwaukee (14-11, 9-6), which returns home after going winless during a three-game road trip.

The Panthers fell to 3-9 away from home this season by enduring a heart-breaking 70-68 loss to Youngstown State on Saturday. Youngstown State's Vytas Sulskis hit a jumper with one second left sending Milwaukee to its fifth loss in seven games overall.
