Purdue looks to keep rolling

Feb 21, 2009 - 1:52 PM Indiana (6-19) at No. 21 Purdue (20-6), 2:00 p.m. EST

WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana (Ticker) -- As it continues to get healthier, Purdue is beginning to play like the team everyone expected it to be.

The 21st-ranked Boilermakes aim for their fourth straight win when they host lowly Indiana on Saturday.

One of the contenders at the start of the season for the Big Ten Conference title, Purdue (20-6, 9-4 Big Ten) endured key injuries to Robbie Hummel and Chris Kramer earlier in the campaign.

Despite a lingering sore back, Hummel has played the last two games and had 11 points in Purdue's 72-54 pounding of Michigan State on Tuesday.

JaJuan Johnson scored 17 points to lead the Boilermakers, who pulled within one game of the Spartans for the conference lead.

Indiana (6-19, 1-12) has been in rebuilding mode all season and comes into the contest winless in eight road games.

The Hoosiers lost their fourth straight overall on Thursday, a 68-51 setback to Wisconsin. Freshman Verdell Jones III scored 16 points to lead the way.
