Arizona State, California vie for third place in Pac-10

TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- A top-three seed in the Pac-10 tournament is on the line Saturday when 21st-ranked Arizona State hosts California in the teams' season finale.

The Sun Devils (21-8, 10-7 Pac-10) are tied with the Golden Bears (22-8, 11-6) for third place in the conference after dropping each of their last three games, including a 74-64 setback to Stanford on Thursday.

The loss to Stanford (17-11, 6-11), which sits four games ahead of Oregon (8-21, 2-15) at the bottom of the Pac-10, came on the heels of consecutive overtime losses at Washington and Washington State.

California has also stumbled to the finish, splitting its last four games after having forged an 83-77 victory at Arizona on Thursday.

Jerome Randle, who is averaging a team-high 17.8 points per game, made 8-of-11 3-pointers, including six in the second half, en route to a career-high 31 points against the Wildcats.
