Second-half rally lifts Arizona State past Oregon
Feb 9, 2007 - 6:40 AM TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Arizona State rebounded from one of its worst offensive halves of the season with one of its best.Aubree Johnson scored 17 points to help rally the eighth-ranked Sun Devils to a 61-48 Pac-10 Conference victory over Oregon.
Arizona State (22-3, 12-2 Pac-10) hit just 8-of-31 shots (26 percent) and trailed, 26-18, at halftime.
But behind Johnson and Emily Westerberg, the Sun Devils shot 67 percent (14-of-21) in the second half to easily overtake the Ducks (13-10, 5-8).
Johnson scored 13 points after the break and Westerberg had 10 of her 14 for Arizona State, which forced 26 Oregon turnovers. Briann January added 13 points, including four second-half 3-pointers.
Carolyn Ganes and Kaela Chapdelaine scored 10 points apiece for the Ducks, who took just 16 shots in the second half, making eight.
