George Washington beats out Charlotte
Feb 16, 2007 - 3:00 AM CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Sarah-Jo Lawrence scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds as No. 8 George Washington gained a 64-59 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Charlotte.Jessica Adair had 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and Jazmine Adair added 14 and six for the Colonials (22-2, 11-0 A-10), who remained perfect in league play with their 15th straight win.
Lawrence shot 6-of-15 from the field for George Washington, which finished 43 percent (25-of-58) from the floor and held a 36-18 advantage in points in the paint.
The Colonials also held a 49-34 advantage in rebounds, getting 10 from Whitney Allen.
Sabrina Gregory scored 17 points and Danielle Burgin and Wendy Stywalt added 12 each for the 49ers (17-9, 8-3), who had their school-record 22-game home winning streak snapped.
