Black helps Duke notch 23rd straight home win
Jan 12, 2008 - 3:47 AM DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Chante Black had 19 points, nine rebounds and four blocks as 13th-ranked Duke walked over Florida State, 70-38, in an Atlantic Coast Conference contest on Friday.Bridgette Mitchell scored 10 points and nabbed five rebounds off the bench as Duke (13-3, 2-0 ACC) picked up its 23rd straight home win, the longest active streak in the country.
Florida State (11-6, 1-1 ACC) only shot 23 percent from the field (15-of-64) and surrendered 24 points off of 25 turnovers in its first conference loss.
The Lady Blue Devils controlled the entire contest, building a 36-18 halftime advantage. They led, 20-4, in fast-break points and 52-18 in points in the paint.
