Ajavon, Rutgers, cruise past George Washington
Nov 19, 2007 - 3:35 AM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Matee Ajavon had 19 points and No. 7 Rutgers cruised to a 67-42 victory over 12th-ranked George Washington on Sunday.Kia Vaughn had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Scarlet Knights (2-1), who used an 11-0 run to take a 17-7 lead early in the first half.
Rutgers led by double digits for the final 28 minutes of the game and were up by as many as 34 in the second half.
Jessica Adair, Kimberly Beck and Sarah-Jo Lawrence each scored nine points for the Colonials (3-1), who shot 22 percent (13-of-59) from the field.
It was the worst home loss since November 2001 for George Washington, which was defeated 88-57 by Tennessee.
