Raven powers Texas past Arizona State
Dec 21, 2007 - 5:46 AM TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Brittainey Raven scored 18 points for No. 20 Texas en route to a 62-51 victory over 21st-ranked Arizona State on Thursday night.Kathleen Nash scored 10 points and added nine rebounds, and Carla Cortijo added 10 and seven assists for Texas (9-2), which has won seven straight contests.
Texas squandered an early 11-point lead but regained command midway through the second half. The Longhorns overcame a 1-of-15 performance from the arc in part by holding Arizona State to 35 percent (18-for-52) shooting from the field.
Briann January scored 22 points for the Sun Devils (6-5), who have lost three of their last five.
