Purdue breezes past Texas-San Antonio
Dec 21, 2006 - 7:01 AM LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Ticker) -- Purdue made the first duel pretty one-sided.Katie Gearlds scored 17 points and Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton added 15 as Purdue rolled over Texas-San Antonio, 75-50, in the Duel In The Desert.
The Boilermakers (10-2) will face Boise State in the tournament championship game on Thursday.
Erin Lawless added 14 points and seven rebounds for Purdue, which shot 54 percent from the field and outscored Texas-San Antonio in the paint, 32-18. The Boilermakers had a 39-29 edge on the glass.
Vivian Ewalefo scored 20 points to lead the Roadrunners (1-8), who trailed, 41-17, at halftime. Monica Gibbs added 13 points and Lynsey Freeman 10 for Texas-San Antonio.
