Larkins, Little lead North Carolina past Virginia
Jan 9, 2007 - 3:19 AM CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Erlana Larkins scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead No. 2 North Carolina to a 96-62 drubbing over Virginia.Camille Little netted 17 points and Ivory Latta added 14 for the Tar Heels (18-0, 3-0 ACC), who shot 37 percent (34-of-92) but corralled 32 offensive rebounds, including 12 by Larkins.
LaToya Pringle chipped in with 11 points and 11 rebounds - six offensive - for North Carolina, which scored 29 points off 32 Virginia turnovers.
Lyndra Littles scored 19 points and Monica Wright added 17 for the Cavaliers (10-5, 0-1), who shot 37 percent (24-of-65) including 2-of-11 from 3-point range.
Virginia, playing its first ACC game of the season, never led in the contest and trailed, 51-25, at the half.
